At Alberta Governor, we carry Woodward electronic governors for turbines. As a Woodward Authorized Independent Service Facility, we are able to provide repairs and service for electronic governors. As a Woodward RTR (Recognized Turbine Retrofitter), we are able to service in our shop or on site, as well as provide assistance during the commissioning stages of a rebuild.
We carry the following electronic governors for turbines:
Woodward’s Peak 150 steam turbine control is a low-cost, compact, digital control for single-valve or single-valve rack steam turbines. It provides convenient operator control and speed display from the front panel.
The Peak 150 digital control is designed to control a steam turbine driving a mechanical load. It provides tight control of speed (NEMA D) and includes an input for a 4-20 mA remote speed control signal, which can be used for a process-generated input to control the speed setting.
Woodward’s 505 electrical control operates industrial steam turbines of all sizes and applications through the steam valve actuation system. The 505 control senses turbine speed via passive or active speed probes, and controls the steam turbine through one or two (split-range) actuators connected to the turbine inlet steam valves.
It includes specifically-designed algorithms and logic to start, stop, control, and protect industrial steam turbines or turbo-expanders, driving generators, compressors, pumps, or industrial fans.
The MicroNet Plus control is a VME-based, modular control system with redundant or simplex CPU and power supply options and a variety of I/O module choices. I/O Module selection is customized to match customer requirements. I/O can be configured in any combination of simplex, duplex, or triplex and in any combination of analog, discrete, and specialty modules. I/O modules allow for hot replacement without removing control power.
The MicroNet Plus control utilizes Woodward’s proven graphical application programmer (GAP) software. This function block format programming language provides an efficient means to program prime mover control logic.
Woodward’s 5009FT TMR controls industrial steam turbines of all sizes and types in system-critical applications requiring maximum reliability and availability. This steam turbine controller includes specifically-designed algorithms and logic to start, stop, control, and protect industrial steam turbines or turbo-expanders, driving compressors, generators, or pumps.
Woodward’s MicroNet TMR controller is a customizable digital control platform that reliably controls and protects steam, gas turbines, and compressor trains used in system-critical applications where the chance of a safety issue or large economic loss may be possible.
The MicroNet TMR’s superior architecture and diagnostic coverage combine to create a system with 99.999% availability and reliability. The MicroNet TMR can be applied as a component of protection and safety systems to allow the overall system to meet IEC61508 SIL-3 compliance standards.
Woodward’s Atlas-II control is an industrial platform that offers robust, low-cost control for gas turbine applications.
This control is designed to integrate into the modern plant architecture through the use of Ethernet and fieldbus communication protocols. With a proven real-time operating system and dedicated inputs and outputs, the Atlas-II provides reliable and deterministic performance for key prime mover control functionality. The Atlas-II programmable control is designed specifically for gas turbines.
The GTC100 and GTC200 industrial controllers offer robust, low-cost control for a wide variety of dual-fuel gas turbine applications. The GTC100 controls single-shaft turbines, and the GTC200 controls two-shaft machines. Industrial microprocessor technology is coupled with a proven real time operating system to provide reliable and deterministic performance that is required for recursion-rate-sensitive applications.
